Austin is in his second season as a coach at DRBA. He is a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School (2014) where he was a four sport athlete, including 4 years of baseball at the varsity level and received All-State Utility Honors. The former Dubuque County legion player played at Kirkwood Community College for 2 years and finished with a 19-1 pitching record. Austin went on to sign a D1 offer to play at Eastern Illinois. Austin returned to Dubuque to play at Clarke University and graduated from there.

Addison McGovern-Smothers

College: UW- Plattville
Addison is in his third year as a coach at DRBA. He has coached 10u and 11u baseball. He is a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School (2016) where he was a pitcher for four years. Addison is currently attending college at UW-Platteville where he is majoring in forensic investigation.

Curran Smothers

Curran Smothers

Hometown: Dubuque, Iowa
College: Luther College & The University of Dubuque
Curran is in his third year as a coach at DRBA. He has been coaching for over 10 years. In the ten years he has coached from 8U baseball up through 14u baseball. He is a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School, where he was a pitcher and first basemen for four years. Curran then went on to pitch at Luther College. He then transferred to The University of Dubuque and finished with a degree in business administration and accounting.

Jeremy Harper

Jeremy Harper

Jeremy has been a multi-sport athlete his entire life. After graduating from Iowa City’s West High School and Loras College in Dubuque, he became a multi-sport coach. He is a true student of the game of baseball and has coached over 10 youth seasons and counting.

Mike Clemens

Mike Clemens

Hometown: Dubuque, Iowa
College: The University of Dubuque
Mike has coached at DRBA since it opened. Mike has previously coached football and women's track at Hempstead. He also coached the Dubuque Brewers for 10 plus years and The Dubuque County Legion team in 2013 & 2014. He attended Dubuque Senior and Hempstead High School where he was a four-sport athlete including 4 years of baseball and received first team all-conference MVC in football and baseball. The former Independent league hall of famer attended The University of Dubuque where he played both football and baseball.

Bryce Eberly

Bryce Eberly

Bryce graduated from Clarinda High School in Clarinda, IA (2009) and was a four sport athlete, playing baseball for 3 years at the varsity level. He went on to play baseball at Highland Community College for three years in the Jayhawk Conference. He played two years of baseball at Mount Mercy University from 2014 - 2016, and graduated from there. He played summer baseball for the Clarinda A's from 2010-2017. During that time he was in a player/coach role from 2013-2017. He have helped organize and run baseball camps all those years as well. He also coached two seasons of high school baseball at the Clarinda Academy; one year as assistant coach and one year as head coach. His family started the Clarinda A's in 1954 and continue to run, manage, and coach the team currently.
