Austin is in his fifth season as a coach at DRBA. He is a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School (2014) where he was a four sport athlete, including 4 years of baseball at the varsity level and received All-State Utility Honors. The former Dubuque County legion player played at Kirkwood Community College for 2 years and finished with a 19-1 pitching record. Austin went on to sign a D1 offer to play at Eastern Illinois. Austin returned to Dubuque to play at Clarke University and graduated from there.
